Intravenous Ozone Therapy

Intravenouse Ozone Therapy is a powerful and effective healing agent, detoxifier, immune booster and sterilizer.

When you hear the word “ozone,” you may immediately think of the ozone layer in our atmosphere that protects us from the ultraviolet radiation from the sun. The sun’s ultraviolet rays are what create the ozone (O3 ).

Ozone (O3), is an energized form of oxygen which contains three atoms of oxygen rather than the two that we normally breathe. Ozone is the second most powerful sterilizer in the world and often used to kill bacteria, viruses, and microbes. Ozone occurs naturally in the environment, most often as a result of lightning strikes that occur during thunderstorms. In fact, the “fresh, clean, spring rain” smell that we notice after a storm most often results from the creation of ozone.

Common FAQs

The third oxygen atom of ozone makes it extremely reactive, readily attaching itself to other molecules. When contaminants such as bacteria or viruses make contact with ozone, it creates a minuscule hole in the cell wall. After the ozone breaks the cell wall, the bacteria is destroyed. This process is called “Oxidation.” Once completed, ozone reverts to oxygen, making it a very environmentally friendly oxidant.

Unlike stratospheric ozone, which forms naturally in the upper atmosphere and protects us from the sun’s harmful ultraviolet rays, ground-level (or tropospheric) ozone is produced through man-made and natural emissions of volatile organic compounds(VOCs) and nitrogen oxide(NOx) while in the presence of heat and sunlight. Other sources of VOCs are Cars/vehicles with gasoline-burning engines, industrial solvents and other cosumer products.
NOx (Nitrogen oxides), another chemical precursor of ozone, is produced whenever we burn fossil fuels, primarily by motor vehicles and power plants. The sun’s direct ultraviolet rays convert these emissions into ground-level ozone, which is unhealthy to breathe.

Ozone is safe when used under the right circumstances. However, if the proper safety measures are not in place, high concentrations of ozone in the air can cause health problems. The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), has specified that the allowable safe level of residual ozone is 0.1 ppm. Note that this permissible exposure limit (PEL) is for continuous exposure throughout an entire eight-hour day.

Too much ozone in the air can lead to coughing and wheezing. Its important to to keep in mind that it takes an extended period at very elevated levels to cause irritation to the lungs.

There are two methods of producing ozone: Ultraviolet Light (UV) and Corona Discharge. Corona discharge creates ozone by applying high-voltage to a metallic grid that is in-between two dielectrics. Voltage passes through the dielectric to a grounded screen/plate and in the process, creates ozone from the oxygen. UV light creates ozone when a wavelength of 254 nanometers (nm) reaching an atom of oxygen. Both processes split oxygen molecules into single oxygen atoms (O). These atoms combine with another oxygen molecule (O2 ) to form ozone (O3), which doctors then use for medical purposes.

Ozone is one of the best healing agents, detoxifiers, and sterilizers when used in medicine. A systemic medical treatment using ozone is autohemotherapy. In simple terms, Autohemotherapy (self-blood therapy) is the process of removing patient's blood, cleaning the blood with Ozone, and intravenously infused back to the same patient.

Much more common in Europe than the United States, Autohemotherapy is very effective in the management of a number of conditions. In the U.S., this therapy is considered an alternative treatment and is well understood, utilized, and backed with many studies. It can be used as a preventative measure, especially among elderly patients, as natural degeneration takes place. It has been shown to boost metabolism, balance hormones and increase oxidation and energy. Many people with existing health conditions & chronic diseases use Autohemotherapy to stimulate their immune system and boost healing.

By definition, “Chronic” refers to long-term or frequently recurring. Part of the reason chronic disease persists is due to a weakened immune system. By reintroducing your blood back into your body, your immune system launches a new attack. Similar to the way we think of how vaccines introduce a small amount of virus to body, which becomes familiar and then immune, Autohemotherapy engages the immune system the same way.

There are several methods of administration:

Minor Autohemotherapy (mAH)

Once or twice a week, a minimal amount of blood is extracted, at times mixed with herbal, homeopathic remedies or ozone (O3) that is specific to an individual needs. It is then injected back into the patient. Ozone provides oxygen to the cells and tissues and acts as a defense mechanism, getting rid of pathogens. This method has been shown to have a profound effect on acne, allergies, rashes, skin disorders, and chronic respiratory diseases. Approximately 8-12 treatments are needed to reach full potential.

Major Autohemotherapy (MAH)

For best results, 1 or 2x per week several syringes of blood are extracted, mixed with Ozone and injected back into the patient over a period of 30-45 minutes. This treatment has been shown to be effective against conditions such as macular degeneration, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, and tumors. Up to 30 treatments may be recommended over the course of 15 weeks.

Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation (UBI)

This treatment combines MAH with UBI Therapy. A small amount of blood is extracted, mixed with Ozone, which then passes through tubing filled with UVA, UVB, and UVC lights. The combination of ozone and light rays increase activity in the blood cells, stimulating the immune system to fight off and kill infections.
